ICFJ and SYNPICS celebrated World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2012 in Senegal by dedicating the day to coverage of violence against women and child abuses. A panel of experts were invited to discuss the issue which included; Fatoumata Sy president of the National Committee on Violence Against Women, Aida Sylla, a phycollogist who spoke on the impact of violence against women, Fatou Sarr Sow, Director of the Gender Lab, Mbaye Guèye, a lawyer, Fidèle Diémé and Diatou Cisse Badiane Secretary General of SYNPICS.
